CODE OF ETHICS
Sustainability, our bestie
FASHION ON EARTH
Fast fashion provides more clothes. More clothes mean more to dispose of by consumers. Unfortunately, this creates textile waste that only end up in landfills. The “continuous accumulation of cheap garments is only possible because of a constant reduction of production costs. This, in turn, has serious consequences on our health, our planet, and on garment workers’ lives.”
The fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world with oil being #1.
Fashion is also #2 in water consumption, after the agriculture industry.

This website is a resource that provides you with all the tools you need to make informed, sustainable fashion choices."
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE FASHION INDUSTRY?
FAST FASHION
monster in our closet
Fast fashion is a mass-producing business model that uses cheap materials and labor to meet the demand of the current fashion trends sold at a low price. This includes stolen designs from small businesses. "Cheap and disposable clothes allow us to always wear the latest trends. Textile production has grown by 400 % in the last decade and it continues.."
TOXIC CLOTHING
toxic chemicals
Clothes contribute to pollution of rivers+oceans in the process of making and microfibers within them when wearing and washing. "We care more + more about the impact of food on our health, but we rarely think about the toxicity of our clothes." A Greenpeace study for the Detox Campaign has identified "11 chemicals frequently used to make our clothes that contain toxins, carcinogens, and hormone disruptors which should be banned, but currently aren't."
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
we should care
"River pollution, desertification, soil erosion, water consumption, CO2 emissions, forest destruction. Fashion is a real nightmare for our planet." Huge "quantity of freshwater (up to 200 tons of freshwater/ton of dyed fabric) is used for the dyeing and finishing process for all of our clothes. Also, cotton needs a lot of water to grow. Synthetic fibers, such as polyester, are plastic fibers, therefore non-biodegradable, can take up to 200 years to decompose and are used in 72% of our clothing. They are made from fossil fuel, making production much more energy-intensive than with natural fibers. This includes the transportation used to transport all products.
WORKING CONDITIONS
human rights
"Most fashion brands produce in developing countries where extreme poverty forces people to accept inhumane working conditions." When engaging in cheap labor, companies violate human rights for the sake of the mass production of items. Employees usually work with no ventilation, breathing in toxic substances, inhaling fiber dust or blasted sand in unsafe buildings. On top of long working hours, they face verbal and physical abuse. Because the fashion industry requires low-skilled labour, child labour is particularly common in this industry. Forced labor has also been reported. European Parliament is using the term “slave labour” to describe the current working conditions of garment workers in Asia.
